Each of the contest finalists has their own post, and you can vote on the couple/wedding that you like best, to win FREE wedding photography from Jessica Velarde Photography!! We created an inspiration board for each of the weddings so that you can get a visual concept of the wedding. Below the board is the information that the couple sent to us, and a picture of the couple.
Voting rules: Please vote for only one couple – although I know they are all amazing and it’s hard to choose! You can vote only once per day on the blog, but if you are a super fan of any particular couple, you can come back every day and vote again. (Vote by leaving a comment on the post of your favorite couple stating that you are casting your vote!) You can also add ONE additional vote on our Facebook page, by liking or commenting on the photo of the couple’s inspiration board, under the “Contest” album.

From Tera: Well first off our story is a bit crazy! We met at a wedding in Ohio in May 2010. At the time I was living in California and Joe was living in Minnesota and we had both traveled to Ohio to be in our friends’ wedding. Joe had grown up with the groom and I went to school in California with both the bride and the groom. We spent about half a week together during the wedding festivities and finally on the night of the wedding we really connected; cleaning up from the wedding and sitting in the parking lot of the venue, on the ground, me in my bridesmaid dress, him in his suit pants in the humid Ohio spring weather. Over the next few months we spent many hours on the phone and on Skpe and flying back and forth across the country to see each other. Finally in October I flew out and together we drove across the county in his 1995 Jeep, over the course of three days from Minnesota to California. Over the months that followed our love for each other developed more and in May, one day before we had know each other for exactly one year, while on a trip back to Minnesota, Joe asked me to marry him!!!!
My fiance would tell you I’m wedding obsessed. I was the girl who was watching “A Wedding Story” on TLC when I was in elementary school! I love weddings, and I’m so lucky to not only to finally be having my own, but that I get to marry my best friend!!! I love the rustic chic theme, which fits us really well since I am a city girl and Joe grew up on a 210 acre farm in Minnesota.
Our venue will be an outdoor ranch/ farm or appropriate backyard type feel (we are actually going to check out a pumpkin patch today.. to see if that might work!!!) I am also using lots of mason jars that I have been collecting from various sources. We both love kettle corn so we are hopefully having big tubs filled with kettle corn for the “cocktail hour” along with cute little baggies for it to go in. We may also have a lemonade/ ice tea stand for drinks too!! The whole thing is going to be very handmade, rustic, etc. We will have lights stung around to help provide light and ambiance. The color scheme for the whole thing is blush, pale pink, pale peach, cream and grey (along with any other colors we may decide to throw in… I’m not too particular that things are too matchy). The bridesmaids dresses will not match, I’m letting them pick there own within some certain guidelines, that way they can spend what they want and get something they will actually wear again!
We are on a bit of a tight budget trying to do the whole thing for between 10k-12k. We each have things that are important to us regarding the wedding (although Joe would be just as happy to elope!) and one of mine is the photography! I would love really great pictures to commemorate are special day, unfortunately good photography is so expensive, and some of what you can get for less, is well….. less than desirable. It would be such a huge blessing if we were able to have some one as talented as Jessica capture our wedding!
