Guest Post | First Dance Songs

I’m so happy to have Layla from Simply Savannah Events with us today, sharing with us her favorite song choices for the first dance. Thanks so much for being with us Layla!
I am the biggest sap and love listening to romantic cheesy love songs. So when I have my iTunes going while I’m working at home, my husband has to get away since some major girlie music may end up in the shuffle!! Here is a list of my favorite cheesy love songs for your wedding day, including my husband’s and my first dance song- Whatever It Is
Cyndi Lauper - Time After Time or Cindy Lauper with Sarah McLachlan {dedicated to my dad since we danced to this song at my friends wedding and it was a special momement}
Shania Twain - Forever and For Always
Bryan Edwards – Right Now or Yours
I recently fell in love with Bryan Edwards music by watching wedding videos created by the amazing Indie Atlantic Films (one of my great Vendors). The cool thing about this wedding video is that the groom is also the musician singing! Enjoy!!

John Legend - Stay With You
Blake - All of Me
Matt White - Best Days
Josh Turner -Would You Go With Me
Jim Brickman – Never Alone featuring Hillary Scott and Lady Antebellum
Brandi Carlile - Closer to You
Keith Urban - You’ll Think Of Me
Lee Ann Womack - I Hope You Dance

Dave Matthews Band -You & Me

What are your favorites??? What was your first dance song??

“You’ll Think of Me” is definitely a break-up song. Not really something you want for your first dance.

Great suggestions! We went up-beat with our first dance (as you know already Colleen) and used Weezer’s “If You’re Wondering If I Want You To {I Want You To)”. It was a BLAST!. I can’t slow dance to save my life :)

Good call Becky, my mistake it is supposed to be: Keith Urban – Making Memories Of Us, plus the Dave Matthews song is better for parents to dance to or maybe a vow renewal. Brandi Carlile is a little more indie, but love her songs!

Yeah, I’ll have to go with our first dance song “So This is Love”… an extended version of the Cinderella son :)

My fiance and I will be dancing to Steady As We Go by DMB! I cannot wait!!! I do love Josh Turner’s Would You Go With Me, too! Thinking that will be on the cocktail hour playlist. :) Great suggestions!
