I go back and forth on the first look idea. I think it’s such a sweet and special moment for the bride and groom to get to spend their first moments together on their wedding day alone. Since I am personally a woman of faith, I also think it would be such a sacred moment to pray alone with my groom before the ceremony starts. BUT I also think the idea of him seeing me for the first time as I walk down the aisle toward him on my father’s arm, is just too sweet a tradition to let go of. So, I decided the first look was not a possibility for me. Until I saw this awesome post on Creative First Looks on A Paper Proposal, and this image blew my resignation right out of the water.
I have no idea if this couple is praying, but when I saw it, that’s what I thought of. This is the perfect solution to my dilemma – I would get to have a private moment and prayer with my groom before the ceremony, but he wouldn’t see me because he’d be blindfolded! So we would still have the magical moment as I came down the aisle. Problem solved.
What do you think about the “first look” trend? Do you love it or do you prefer the tradition that the groom doesn’t see the bride until she comes down the aisle?
