Things I Love | Rainbows

They’re kind of trendy right now. But I don’t care. Rainbows were like my favorite thing in childhood. Give me a box of crayons and I gave you a rainbow. I still love them. And I think rainbow weddings are the coolest.

Contest To Win Free Wedding Photography!!!

Woo hoo!!!!!!! The day is here. I loved all of your comments on the teaser post. (Abby Grace was the closest guesser!) So here’s what we’re doing! It’s so exciting and amazing I can barely contain myself!! (I apologize in advance for all the exclamation points. It’s what happens when I’m excited.)

We are giving away FREE wedding photography by Jessica Velarde Photography to the most creative and unique wedding!!! In Friday’s post, I shared some examples of fantastic weddings that, I imagine, were unlike any cookie-cutter wedding that their guests had ever been to. If you are planning a wedding with a creative venue, unique attire, incredible details, or anything else that makes the wedding completely and utterly YOU, then enter to win this fantastic prize!!

The amazingly talented photographer behind this giveaway is Jessica Velarde. Check out her web site to see her incredible work, which you can get a taste of below. Jessica resides in Monterey County, California, but is available for (and enthusiastic about) travel worldwide. Her photography is artistic, classic and beautiful. You can see what I mean from the photos below. She is also incredibly sweet and amazing to work with (I can tell you from experience!) If you are looking for creative, artistic photography, on a DIY budget, this contest is for you!!

Ok, so here’s the details. The winner of the contest will receive: a wedding photography package worth $2300!!! This includes a full day of coverage by two (AMAZING) photographers!! (So not a moment of your day will be missed!!) You will also receive 200 high resolution digital files on DVD. (I guarantee you will be thrilled with them!) *Travel and lodging are not included, so please keep in mind there will be a reasonable fee if the winner resides outside Monterey County, CA.

How it works:

The contest is open for entries today (August 1st, 2011) and will remain open until September 30th, 2011 at 11:59 pm, Pacific time. Five finalists will be selected based on the creativity and uniqueness of their wedding plans. The finalists will be announced on October 1st, 2011, and then the contest will head over to the Soundtrack To I Do Facebook page, where anyone and everyone can vote on a winner! Voting will continue until October 15th, and the winner will be announced here on the blog on October 17th.

How to enter:

1. “Like” Soundtrack To I Do on Facebook

2. “Like” Jessica Velarde Photography on Facebook

  • Your name (and your fiance’s name)
  • Your wedding date and location
  • What makes your wedding unique (Include as much detail as possible!)

Can’t wait to see the entries!!!

Saturday Song | Everyday

I just discovered this song and I love it. As a child I was obsessed with the Stand By Me soundtrack, so I fell in love with the original version, by Buddy Holly. Which I also highly recommend for your wedding. (During dinner perhaps, or even during the ceremony if you want to be super cool like that.) But Rogue Wave created a modern, dramatic version of the song. (It’s one of those songs that makes you feel like you are a character in a movie when you listen to it… am I the only person who thinks that about songs?) It would be an amazing first dance song, or if you’re really adventurous… wait for it… bridal entrance!! Hope you love it.

In case you weren’t around this week, here’s the haps:
