First Dance Fridays | Beatles

Happy Friday everyone! Fridays have never been so glorious as they are now, at my current job. Oh how I love them. Anyway… you had to know this would come eventually. First dance Fridays… Beatles style.

Beatles Session-129Laura Hernandez Photography

1. Maybe I’m Amazed

Baby, I’m amazed at the way you love me all the time,
And maybe I’m afraid of the way I love you
Maybe I’m amazed at the way you pulled me out of time,
You hung me on the line
Maybe I’m amazed at the way I really need you

2. Something

Something in the way she moves
Attracts me like no other lover
Something in the way she woos me
I don’t want to leave her now
You know I believe and how

3. I Will

Who knows how long I’ve loved you
You know I love you still
Will I wait a lonely lifetime?
If you want me to I will

4. When I’m 64

When I get older losing my hair,
Many years from now,
Will you still be sending me a valentine
Birthday greetings bottle of wine?
If I’d been out till quarter to three
Would you lock the door,
Will you still need me, will you still feed me,
When I’m sixty-four?

5. In My Life

Though I know I’ll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I’ll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more
In my life I love you more

6. Two Of Us

Two of us riding nowhere
Spending someone’s
Hard earned pay
Two of us Sunday driving
Not arriving
On our way back home
We’re on our way home
We’re on our way home
We’re going home

Have you checked out our contest for FREE wedding photography?? It closes Monday and we announce the finalists on Tuesday!!

Father/Daughter Songs | Lullabies

My dad used to sing me to sleep when I was a little girl. One of my favorite memories of childhood. The song I danced with my dad to at my wedding, in case you’ve been wondering (I know, it was keeping you up at night) was Danny’s Song, by Kenny Loggins. You will not find it anywhere on my father/daughter dance lists, because lyrically, it doesn’t really fit. But my dad used to sing it to me, so it was special to us. For those of you out there who were as lucky as I was to have a musician for a dad, or you just think lullabies are sweet, here are a few. Plus check out a super cute video which inspired this post because it reminded me of my own childhood.

1. Lullaby (Goodnight My Angel) – Billy Joel

Goodnight, my angel
Time to close your eyes
And save these questions for another day
I think I know what you’ve been asking me
I think you know what I’ve been trying to say
I promised I would never leave you
And you should always know
Wherever you may go
No matter where you are
I never will be far away

2. You Can Close Your Eyes – James Taylor

Well the sun is surely sinking down, but the moon is slowly rising
So this old world must still be spinning round and I still love you.
So close your eyes, you can close your eyes, it’s all right

3. Lullaby – Dixie Chicks

How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough, is forever enough
How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough
Cause I’m never, never giving you up

4. Kooks – David Bowie

Will you stay in our Lovers’ Story
If you stay you won’t be sorry
‘Cause we believe in you
Soon you’ll grow so take a chance
With a couple of Kooks
Hung up on romancing

5. Baby Mine – Alison Krauss

Baby mine, don’t you cry
Baby mine, dry your eyes.
Rest your head close to my heart,
never to part,
baby of mine.

6. Goodnight – The Beatles

Now it’s time to say good night
Good night, sleep tight
Now the sun turns out his light
Good night, sleep tight
Dream sweet dreams for me
Dream sweet dreams for you

7. Lullaby – Creed

Hush my love now don’t you cry
Everything will be all right
Close your eyes and drift in dream
Rest in peaceful sleep
If there’s one thing I hope I showed you
Hope I showed you
Just give love to all

8. A Father’s Way – Seal

I build a fence around you in a father’s way
I try to feel what it is your going through
‘Cause I’ve played many ways
When you grow, how much will it take to slow you down
Half the way

Annnd… watch this video. It will make your day. (And if you don’t already know the song, listen to it. It’s a great song.

Dinner Music | 1980s

I recently realized, based on requests from various Your Soundtrack posts, that I need to create a few more posts/playlists with different types of music for cocktail/dinner time. It’s an area that I’ve sadly neglected. You can find a list of my personal favorites for the dinner hour here, and a list of indie favorites here. If you’re looking for classics, you can find them here, or country… it’s here. We are missing a few styles though, so we’ll start where life started… for me anyway.;)The 80s! I have to say this music makes me really happy. It wasn’t my first choice for my own wedding, but these songs just make me smile. So enjoy!

Beatles Continued | Two Of Us

Sad to say this is our last post featuring our Beatles shoot. I shall miss them. Enjoy this behind the scenes video from the shoot that I collaborated with Laura Hernandez Photography to make happen. And of course we could not have done it without our team of awesome vendors… but it was the two of us that dreamed it up.;)
