If the music in The Classicspost was not enough for you, don’t fret! There is plenty of music from this time period to go around. Here is a list of some of the lesser known, but no less lovely, songs of the time. Since many of them were recorded by two or more artists, I’ve listed each of the performers that recorded them. (I kept it to the big names of the 40’s and 50’s though – more modern covers will be in future posts.) That way, you can choose your favorite version, or your favorite crooner. For couples who love the timeless classics: sweet, simple lyrics that say it all, sung by the enduring voices of the greatest crooners of our time. Here is a list of 30 songs from that genre which are most popular and most appropriate for weddings. These are not necessarily the songs that make people jump on the dance floor, but they are great to be played during dinner and for slow dancing (many of them make great first dance songs, and a few could be used as father/daughter songs too.) They can also be used for the ceremony, if you are going the contemporary route. In sum, these songs make any wedding classy and enjoyable for all ages.
