The Editor

Welcome! Thank you for visiting Soundtrack To I Do! I’m Colleen, founder and editor here on the Soundtrack. I started this blog in March, 2011, in response to several friends who were getting married and asking for music advice. I discovered how little was out there to help brides and grooms plan the music for their weddings, and I decided to do something about it!

I love music. All kinds of music. I don’t love a song because it gets stuck in my head, but because it gets stuck in my soul. I don’t love a song because it’s been played on the radio 100 times, but I don’t dislike it just for that reason either. I don’t love a band because they underground and only the cool kids know about them, I love them because they make music that moves me. I love music because it speaks to me. It makes me laugh, cry, dance, ponder, breathe.

I love weddings. I am the girl who started planning my own when I was barely out of diapers. I love the romance, the drama, the beauty, the details. From simple to extravagant, traditional to unique, rustic to modern, I love it all.

I decided to combine those passions here. I wanted to create a space where brides (and grooms, if they’re so inclined) can be inspired, but more importantly, be helped. The music at a wedding can make or break it. It sets the tone, the mood, changes the atmosphere. This is a place to find ideas so that the music at your wedding is exactly what YOU want it to be. I hope it is all you dreamed of.

Hey Colleen, I came across your blod as I am trying to help my friend win a contest but I loved where you wrote “in my off hours, I disappear into a world of beauty, true love, and happily-ever-afters through blogging” that is so me. I use my blog as away of escapism.

I love your back story too and it’s rewarding to do the counseling but also amazing to work on this blog! And it’s a great and very helpful blog. I will be sure to pass it on to friends when they are planning their wedding:-)

I found your blog via wedding gawker and I love what you do! There are so many moments in life that need an inspiring soundtrack to emphasize the feeling. I’ve gone through quite a few soundtracks myself. Keep doing what you do! You’re appreciated all the way from FL. :)

HELLO! I FOUND YOUR BLOG THROUGH A GOOGLE SEARCH. IM LOOKING FOR THE PERFECT SONG TO DANCE TO WITH MY STEP SON, WHEN MY HUSBAND AND I RENEW OUR VOWS. HE HAS TWO KIDS FROM A PREVIOUS MARRIAGE THAT ARE OLDER THAN ME. HE IS MUCH OLDER THAN ME, BUT THAT DOESN’T MATTER! I AM FINDING SONGS FOR MOTHER AND GROOM, I NEED BRIDE AND SON SONGS. THAT, AND A SONG FOR LIGHTING OF THE CANDLE, ARE MY ONLY STUMPS FOR SONG CHOICES. CAN YOU HELP ME?????
