Lately I’m just loving all the pictures, videos, and stories out there in wedding world that showcase couples having the time of their lives at their weddings (and proposals, engagement shoots, etc. etc.) Weddings are all about celebrating your love, and there’s no such thing as celebrating without having fun, right? So I know this tip isn’t particularly wise or profound, but it may resonate with those of you who are stressing over details while planning a wedding. I won’t dismiss the overwhelming nature of planning the biggest event of your life. I just encourage you to see the big picture: when it’s all said and done, what will you and your guests remember about the day? Answer: the fun you had. Examples below.
Remember this wedding? You undoubtedly saw this because the idea was completely original and fantastic, and this video spread across the internet like wildfire. Why? Because everyone wishes their wedding was/will be this awesome and fun. In case you were hiding under a rock when it went viral, here it is for your viewing pleasure. (And did you know that they did the whole thing backwards for the recessional? YouTube it if you’re interested.)
Flash mobs are all the rage these days. (And have I mentioned that they are like my favorite thing ever?) So of course, the wedding world has hopped on board. Because what’s more fun than surprising everyone with a choreographed dance out of nowhere? Nothing! If you caught the guest post last week from Bree at Capitol Romance, she shared about how she surprised her guests in that way. (Including a video – go check it out if you missed it.) And if you haven’t seen the Pittsburgh flash mob proposal, go see it. My sappy little heart eats that stuff up with a spoon.
Which leads me to the grand finale, this amazeballs video which was featured on Junebug Weddings. I shared it on the Soundtrack Facebook page, but I had to include it in this post about going all out and having a blast, because… hello? I can’t express how much I wish I was friends with these people so I could have been a part of this awesome day. Not to sound redundant here, but… Best. Wedding Video. Ever.
