Your Soundtrack | Ashley (Romantic Pink & Grey Wedding + Indie/Pop Playlist Featuring Duets)

Your Soundtrack = My response to brides asking for music help. If you would like help with music for your wedding day, contact me! I’d love to do what I can.

Today’s soundtrack is for Nicole. Here’s what Nicole had to say: “Please help! My fiance and I have listened to A LOT of songs and we can’t find “the one” for our first dance:( I’m so worried that we will just end up settling for something. We want a duet, that way it’s not just one point of view.  We love the semi-indie music scene (Ingrid, Schuyler Fisk, Ray LaMontagne, Joshua Radin, Matt and Kim, Yeasayer). We want something pretty chill and upbeat.  So many love songs seem gloomy!! I hope you have some new suggestions for us! It would also be great if you can throw in some ideas for cocktail hour. It’s going to be in a courtyard area. And one more thing. My fiancé and I are in a somewhat unique situation. My dad passed away, and my fiance’s mom has also passed away. So we are thinking of doing something different for the dances. Like I will dance with his dad. And he will dance with my mom. And suggestions on music for this?

The wedding is being held the first weekend of June at the Piazza in the Village.  The ceremony will be held in the chapel, with a courtyard cocktail hour, and the reception will move to the Village Ballroom. My colors are blush, ivory and grey.  The bridesmaids will be wearing floor length blush pink chiffon dresses all in a slightly different neckline.  My dress is lace:)My bouquet will be a mix of pink and ivory flowers including peonies and astilbe.  The tables will not have floral centerpieces, but we have scrounged antique stores for glass decanters and there will be one on each table, with a few small apothecary bottles and one flower on each table in one of the bottles.”

I’m not going to lie, Ashley, this was one of my more challenging playlists! Duets are hard to find, let alone duets with lyrics that are wedding appropriate. But I think I found some pretty good ones, so I hope you  like them. I also included some sweet tunes for the cocktail hour, as well as a few songs that I think could work for either the father/daughter OR mother/son dance (or both), in your unique situation. I truly hope this helps!!
